Meet John Alden
General Manager
What has your career trajectory at LP looked like?
I started as an Internet Marketing Specialist in the summer of 2014. I saw early success and was able to hit quota every cycle consistently for my first year. Within 8 months, I was fully autonomous and broke an all time record for most sals in a pay cycle and most sales in a month in April of 2015. Shortly thereafter I became an assistant sales manager and then a team manager about 1 year into my tenure with LP. As a manager I developed many new reps who are still thriving in sales as well as other departments today. I discovered that as much as I loved closing deals, I also took great pride in helping other employees grow by giving them the same education, inspiration and comradely that I had experienced when I first started. LP was expanding rapidly at the time, and I was asked if I might be open to starting an east coast office. I accepted an offer to move to Chicago as an interim GM while that office was still growing, and after 6 months there I moved to Charlotte to open a new branch for the company.
What do you most love about your job?
My colleagues, and the satisfaction of closing deals for others.
How do you explain what you do for a living to family and friends?
I’m a general manager of the east coast headquarters of a digital marketing agency. We mainly work with Google, Microsoft and Facebook advertising, and I assist with whatever is necessary to maintain the office, grow and train our staff, and ensure that we’re consistently hitting sales goals.
